A selection of images from a November afternoon wander around the Keyhaven Marshes, part of the Lymington-Keyhaven Marshes Nature Reserve, Hampshire.
Part of the New Forest National Park, the marshes bordering the Lymington River estuary and the Solent are of international importance as a breeding and over-Wintering site for a wide variety of birds. The fertile marshes and salt-marshes provide food and shelter to hundreds of species including geese, ducks and waders. The setting is spectacular, with sweeping views over the water towards Hurst Point with its castle and lighthouse and across to the Isle of Wight, including stunning views of the chalk stacks of The Needles with their famous red-white striped lighthouse.
