Let’s stay on the beach that just kept giving for today’s featured photo. I can’t remember the last time a single location offered up so many potential images. It felt like there was a photo wherever I pointed my camera, thanks to the perfect play of land, sea and stunning late afternoon light. For an hour or so, I completely lost myself in my photography and in marvelling at the beauty of the world around me.
What makes this photo for me is the pattern formed by the gentle waves of a receding tide as they washed from an eerily calm Solent onto Meon Beach near Hill Head, Fareham. As they sauntered in, their crests caught the amber light of the long, hazy sunset making them appear as if backlit against the petrol blue of the sea.
