What better way to celebrate the end of a scorching week up here in the Northern Highlands than with a moody silhouette of “our mountain”, the ever present bulk of Ben More Assynt rising above the slate-grey waters of Loch Shin.
This was taken on a sunset stroll up the hillside behind West Shinness just before 10:30pm on one of those clear sky midsummer evenings that literally go on forever… dusk turning effortlessly to dawn with the sky never darkening beyond a twilight.
